Volunteering: south west and Wales

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Zzz archive

Civil Service volunteering is an important element of the government white paper on giving. In the south west and Wales we are bringing together local schemes looking for civil service volunteers. Some of the current opportunities on offer are listed below:

Ablaze is a Bristol based charity that aims to develop sustainable partnerships between businesses and schools. Through core and bespoke programmes it provides structured volunteering opportunities to raise aspiration, attainment and achievement in young people, prioritising disadvantaged areasof the city. Read the Breaking Limits opportunity description and then drop them an email to register your interest

Axe Valley Community College is for pupils aged 11 to 18 and has a proud tradition of serving the local community in the heart of rural East Devon.

As part of your development and giving something back to the community where you work, we would love to invite you to volunteer your support. You are all entitled to 5

days Continuing Professional Development (as a minimum) per year and this will be a fantastic way to try something new and be part of this exciting project.

It will take as much or as little time as your line manager and department will allow but as a minimum, we’re looking for a commitment of 3 hours per week over a twelve week period. Find out more from the Axe Valley Engaging our Schools Opportunity Description and then drop me a line using the Expression of interest form.
