Opportunities for team building or development can be thin on the ground, but this is a volunteering opportunity that would be ideal for a group of 10-20 staff.
Bristol City Council offer day care services for adults with learning difficulties (including autism and down's syndome) and dementia. Service users visit a therapeutic house in St George’s that offers a space for recreation and the chance to get involved with activities such as cooking or gardening. They are now looking for volunteers to help out with decorating the house and raising money to buy the decorating materials. No specialist skills are required, just a willingness to work as a team, pitch in and help and raise some funds! The service users themselves are keen to work alongside the volunteers, so it does offer a real chance to do something in a very different work environment and get to know the people you are helping.
