Discover your future in Cumbria

Civil Service Local is coming to Cumbria, and we're not just holding one session but two - on the same day.

Do you live or work in Cumbria and want to know which other departments are in the county? Maybe you’re thinking of moving to the area. Why not come along to our ‘Discover Cumbria’ session?

Or, if you're looking for a development opportunity then the day’s second event will let you find out how you could progress your career by studying for a professional qualification in leadership and management.

We're looking forward to holding both of these events in Workington on July 14, both at the Rural Payments Agency, Curwen Rd, Workington CA14 2DD.

You can attend either session, or both. If you want to go to both events, you will need to click on the two links below.

Session 1 - Discover Cumbria

The first session is the latest in our popular new series of ‘Discover…’ events. Tickets for ‘Discover Manchester’ and ‘Discover Liverpool’ were snapped up quickly, and this promises to be another great event.

You will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge with other civil servants, engage in cross-departmental working, develop network links and contribute to your own personal development.

The session will take place from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Grades AA to SEO or equivalent are eligible to apply. Tea, coffee and water will be provided. Places are limited, so discuss attendance with your line manager.

Session 2 - ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management Course

If you want to develop yourself and gain a recognised qualification at the same time, the ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management course might be just what you are looking for.

The qualification you obtain at the end of the course is equivalent to a second year degree, and the cost is met by the Government. The course is open to all grades, but you need to be able to demonstrate that your role allows you to access leadership and management opportunities.

To find out more about the course, the commitment you need to give and the application process, come along to the information session from 1:45 to 2:45. Tea, coffee and water will be provided. Places are limited, so discuss attendance with your line manager.
