Did you know that Civil Servants are entitled to three days special leave a year for volunteering activities? Why don’t you do something different and volunteer some of your time to helping individuals get that all important job. We need volunteers to help young people and those seeking work to either understand how they can be more employable, what it is like in the workplace or to carry out mock interviews.
Volunteering is not only a rewarding experience but it can also help you to increase your skills/competencies whilst giving you the opportunity to be active in your local community.
The dates of the current opportunities are listed below:
17th Job Centre, Central Bristol - Volunteers needed for mock interviews
23rd Wadham School, Crewkerne - Volunteers needed to help with activities
3rd Bath College, Centre of Bath - Volunteers needed for mock interviews
7th Raising Aspirations - Volunteers needed for employability sessions
8th Raising Aspirations - Volunteers needed for employability sessions

More opportunities are being planned for Gloucester, Chippenham and Salisbury. If you would like to participate in any of the events listed, please contact June Shearing. Please also state in your email the name and date of the event you would like to volunteer for.
You will need to seek authorisation from your line manager in order to attend and any travel/subsistence costs must be met by your home department.
Civil Service Local is committed to ensuring that wherever possible our events are accessible to all participants. If you have any specific requirements that will enable you to fully participate, please let us know and we will endeavour to make any reasonable adjustments.
