Making Your Money Matter: planning ahead

Our very own occupational charity, The Charity for Civil Servants, has recently been talking to more and more people about effective budgeting, offering financial capability information as well as emergency help and debt advice.

Now that April is here we’ve all received our Council Tax bills for the year ahead. Many of us will have seen an increase. And the same goes for our water bills. So now’s the time to start planning ahead and budgeting each month for those additional costs.

The Charity also now offers financial capability training across the Civil Service in England, Wales and Scotland. The sessions provide an overview of budgeting, saving, borrowing and credit, managing debt, investing, protecting family and possessions and planning for the future. Each session should last 1½ hours, with between 10 and 20 attendees. You can book a training session here.

For further information and advice from the Charity, take a look at their website or call to speak to an Adviser in confidence on Freephone 0800 056 2424.
