Working on Your Wellbeing

The Charity for Civil Servants is this week launching a new campaign to help civil servants improve their wellbeing. The launch coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week.

The Charity is talking to more and more of us about effectively managing our stress and how to ‘spot  the signs’ in advance so that you can manage any problems effectively and put measures in place to avoid serious consequences. To help you do this, they’ve developed a simple online stress test – an effective tool enabling anyone concerned about their mental wellbeing to quickly see whether they need to take action or not.

The Charity has also published new content and online information, including signposting to trusted partners who can help. Mental wellbeing fact sheets, produced in partnership with The Mental Health Foundation, can be downloaded from the website.

It’s also well worth thinking about how much physical activity you do. Exercise is a fantastic way to relieve stress and can be as simple as upping your daily step count. The Charity is firmly behind the concept of exercising for better mental health and their annual Walking Challenge is now an established event. So why not join up now to #WalkToWellbeing?

For further information and advice from the Charity, take a look at their website or call to speak to an Advisor in confidence on Freephone 0800 056 2424.

My wife and I have been doing alot more walking these days and the more we walk the more we enjoy it and the fitter we feel. Chatting along the way helps destress and adds to the enjoyment- We feel great when we come back and we have forgotton all about watching TV.
