The Skills Service is planning a day of Year 10 Mock Interviews at Ken Stimpson Community School in Werrington, Peterborough on Wednesday 9 May.
This event, being staged for the second year running, forms part of their employability offer to schools and will enable every student to have access to a basic 10 minute mock interview (with 5 minutes feedback) before entering Year 11 and potentially the world of work at age 16.
We find that not only do these mock interviews prepare students for the actual interview process, but they also serve to help build their confidence.
We are looking for volunteers to carry out the mock interviews. Over the course of the day there will be 3 opportunities at the times below:
Period | Time | Number of Students to be seen by volunteer |
A |
9am – 10:30am |
6 |
B |
11:45am – 1:30pm |
7 |
C | 2:15pm – 3:15pm |
4 |
We would love to be able to have your support and commitment with a handful of volunteers if at all possible. The school will provide refreshments (tea, coffee, and biscuits) throughout the day for any volunteers in attendance and the mock interviews will take place in the library.
This is an opportunity to not only help the students but also to learn or refresh your interview skills.
If you are able to support please get in touch by 12 April stating which time slot you prefer.
Over the course of a year we have similar opportunities in other parts of our region so if you are interested in participating in similar activities then please let us know.
