Do you want to learn more about how to recognise the signs of domestic abuse?

Maybe you would like to help team members who disclose and display domestic abuse signals or perhaps you would like to improve the life chances of vulnerable citizens by better understanding the signs of domestic abuse
'Trusted Professional' is  a one day course for civil servants in Wales to equip them with the skills and confidence to respond appropriately to a disclosure and refer survivors and perpetrators to the specialist service in your area for support.

We are delighted that Welsh Women's Aid are working with us to deliver this discovery session. For many people, when they first disclose they are experiencing domestic abuse no one listens to them. No one consults them about how to stop the abuse, despite the fact that nobody knows the perpetrator better than they do. Not surprisingly, many struggle to escape the abuse permanently, build their independence, and get their lives back.

The session is relevant to Civil Servants working in Wales as in 2015, 'Violence against women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act' was launched and is the first law of its kind in the UK. The Act seeks an improved collective public sector response, stronger leadership and a more consistent focus on the way we tackle these issues in Wales and to help victims.

The aim is to provide you with an understanding of the different ways someone may present signs of domestic abuse and what you can do to help.
