Volunteer with Lab in a Lorry Tour in Wales

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Zzz archive

The Institute of Physics (IOP) has announced dates in the Autumn and Winter 2014/15 when the Lab in a Lorry will be touring Wales.

Lab in a Lorry or Labordy mewn Lori needs volunteers with a scientific or engineering background for events across Wales during school term time from September until March 2015.

The initiative is an interactive mobile lab designed to give young people aged 11 to 14 the opportunity to explore science through open-ended experiments. Volunteers are needed to help guide the students through the experiments and make sure everyone gets to be involved.

You should be able to commit to a minimum of 1 full school day, but you are welcome to come along for as many days as you like. In return you’ll have a rewarding and unforgettable experience, as well as getting some IOP freebies and also be awarded affiliate membership to the Institute of Physics for a year.

Details of the schedule can be found in the following leaflets:-

If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, contact details for James Bamford are given in these leaflets.
