2 new projects need 2 new teams

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: North West England

AndyAshworthThis autumn, we’ll be starting work to develop 2 new pilot projects to expand our support for local citizens.  Would you like to get involved in these exciting and unique opportunites?

We have three existing projects that provide support to local citizens.  They have been successfully rolled out across the region over the past few years, and the team even won a Civil Service Award in 2014 for deliver excellence in reform.  I am about to start work on 2 new ideas to build on this success and am looking for enthusiastic people who can help to design, scope, and deliver innovative projects that will provide joined-up support for particular groups of local people.

Idea 1

I want us to help citizens at a time of crisis - typically a time when they also have an increased need to access government services and advice. Using food banks as a starting point, the project will aim to offer support when and where it’s most needed. This will mean using digital media as well as offering face to face help and advice on a range of issues.

 Idea 2

Government services and the rest of the world are changing rapidly into an increasingly digital offering.  I want to work with our fellow citizens to improve their knowledge and skills for navigating this new and fast-changing digital world. Whether people need help using government services on-line, or just some tips on everyday digital skills to open up opportunities for them and their families, our new project will trial a number of ideas to help them make the most of what’s available.

Both of these new projects offer a unique opportunity. You and I can make a real difference to people in our community and use our skills and knowledge of government to deliver services differently.  This is a chance to join a project team at the very beginning and see the ideas through from its inception to delivery.

What do I need from you?

  • Skills – I need people who are good at planning, being creative, communicating and using digital media
  • An open mind – let’s find a new ways of doing things
  • Passion – I hope you share my enthusiasm for delivering better customer services

If this sounds like you and you want to get involved then please get in touch with me.

The small print:

Exact locations for the projects have yet to be confirmed, but will probably include Blackpool and Lancaster.

Anyone can get involved but you will need to discuss your commitment with your manager first and any expenses will have to be met by your own department.

I look forward to hearing from you – join me and make a difference!

Civil Service Local is committed to ensuring that wherever possible our events are accessible to all participants. If you have any specific requirements, please let us know and we will endeavour to make any reasonable adjustments.
