We have discovery sessions on How to get that Job, Discovering Parliament and Putting the Talent Action Plan into Practice planned over the next couple of months.
How to get that Job
Following their success in Nottingham we are now offering these sessions in Derby, Northampton, Telford, Coventry and Birmingham.
These are interactive sessions to learn how to make the most of the CS Jobs site and to discover hints and tips to make your job application stand out from the rest.
It will involve a walkthrough of how to set job alerts and you will look at some examples of competencies through the eyes of the sifter.
Please note the session is not designed to tell you how to write the perfect competency.
Discovering Parliament
Clare Mullin from the Houses of Parliament Outreach Service will deliver an engaging and interactive session on the work and processes of Parliament outlining its role in relation to the Government.
The session will also include information about Parliamentary Questions, the passage of a Bill from Green Paper and First Reading through to Act.
These sessions will be available in Coventry and Birmingham
Put the Talent Action Action Plan into Practice
This successful session was recently held in Nottingham and will now be repeated in Birmingham.
Its aim is to raise awareness and generate debate on how equality and diversity are being addressed across the civil service.
It is a call for action to everyone across the diversity spectrum who is keen to make the Talent Action Plan a reality here in the midlands.
There will be a mixture of presentations, including a talk from a key member of the national civil service diversity team and group discussions along with an opportunity to meet colleagues from other departments and learn more about the midlands cross-departmental Equality & Diversity network.
