Dementia Awareness with Dementia Friends

Dementia Awareness Week will take place on 15-21 May 2016

Did you know

  • 1 in 14 people over the age of 65 have dementiadementia-friends-logo-620[1]
  • 850,000 people in the UK are living with dementia
  • 40% of people with dementia felt lonely recently and 34% do not feel part of their community
  • By 2051 there will be over 2 million people living with dementia in the UK

 To help raise awareness and understanding of dementia,  Ann White, Dementia Friends Champion, is holding two 90 minute interactive and engaging sessions on Thursday 19th May 2016.

Session 1 - 10.30am to 12.00noon

Session 2 - 13.00pm to 14.30pm

Both sessions will be held in room BP2313, Benton Park View, Newcastle Upon Tyne

You will learn five things everyone should know about dementia and she will help dispel the myths. At the end of the session you can become a Dementia Friend and spread the word helping us to increase understanding and awareness.
