Eastern Academy call for Facilitators and Mentors

Posted by: and , Posted on: - Categories: East, South East & London, Zzz archive

We are looking for Facilitators and Mentors to support the Eastern Academy. This is the first cross-departmental ‘Academy’ for ‘leaders of the future’ to be held in the east of England and will be launched in September. Delegates will attend a four day residential event on 9th September at the University of Bedfordshire in Luton and work with a cross-departmental group to develop a project focused on civil service reform over the following 12 months.

Group Facilitators and Project Mentors

We are now looking for a range of people to support the Academy. Initially we need to identify Group Facilitators for the initial 4 day event and Project Mentors to work with the groups over the following 12 months. It may be possible to combine both the roles. If you are interested please have a discussion with your Line Manager, complete an Expression of Interest Form and return to Liz Challand by midday Monday 28th July at the latest. If you want to know more please contact one of the team.

Delegates

This event is aimed at civil servants who are:

  • keen to develop, have drive and passion but perhaps have had limited opportunity to share and discuss their ideas or demonstrate their potential
  • proactive, willing to challenge attitudes and behaviours and be enthusiastic about creating and leading change
  • have the potential to become leaders who are positive, dynamic and will act as role-models for all civil servants owing year (or both if you prefer).

Line Management will have recognised their potential but the candidates will not normally be on a departmental developmental or talent programme. The event is aimed at civil servants who either work or live in the east of England, the south east of England or the Greater London areas. We are currently writing to senior managers in these areas and we will shortly provide further information on these blog pages about how to apply to participate as a delegate.

Project Team

If you would like the opportunity to work with the Project Team in developing the programme, please contact either Ian or John. In particular if you have Project Leadership, Project Management or Training / Learning & Development experience we would like to hear from you. This may mean anything from half a day a week to a full time secondment but all costs will need to be met from the originating department.

Please contact us if you wish to talk this over with us. Email John Haskey and Ian Barton
