You might not consider yourself a champion but for most of us using the internet is part of our everyday life. There are however many people in our communities who lack basic digital skills and so miss out on all the benefits which the internet can bring.
We are looking for volunteers to be Digital Champions in the Cambridgeshire area, to support and encourage beginners and first time users of computers and the internet.
A digital champion can be many things and the role will change from person to person, but they all have one common aim – to get people online – and so helping to make us an inclusive digital society.
You don't have to be a computer whizzkid to get involved. All you need is:
- Basic computer skills that you are able to share
- Confidence using the Internet
- Enthusiasm about the things that it can do
- The patience to support people, businesses or local organisations who are learning something new
