If you love gardening you could help a social enterprise

pexels-in-the-gardenWould you like a day out of the office volunteering your time to help on an allotment? We have just the opportunity.

Last year Brandon Trust acquired an allotment plot to provide a safe space for people they support to experience nature, get some fresh air and exercise, and take time out to relax. Ultimately they want their allotment to grow and develop into a social enterprise where they can sell produce to raise money for their work supporting people with a learning disability.

The Brandon Trust is a charity that works with adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism. It helps them develop life and social skills and gives them education and employment training. It also provides supported living and respite care.

Volunteers have enjoyed helping out over the last few months and even at this time of year there is a lot of work to be done. If you would like to get involved in this very worthy cause your help would be hugely appreciated.

Your help extends wider then just the allotment, as you are helping these individuals to lead more independent lives.

The day will help prepare this social enterprise for Winter and will involve some planting, digging and general maintenance.

When: Thursday 3 November

Time: 10 am – 4 pm

Location: Brandon Trust allotment project, Chesham Allotments, Chesham Road, Anerley, London, SE20 7RP.

Volunteers required: up to 15 volunteers for a full day – perhaps a day out for your whole team!
