Wanted: volunteers with enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to get stuck in

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: East, South East & London

Get the year off to a good start by using one of your volunteering days and help make a real difference to someone in supported living services.

Brandon Trust are looking for a team of volunteers to help tame a substantial garden in East Dulwich (SE22) in preparation for growing vegetables later in the year. It is estimated this will take a couple of days but if you can only do one we’d still like to hear from you.

The work will potentially take place on the 30/31st January between 10:00am and 3:30pm – but this is flexible depending on the weather and availability of volunteers.

No gardening experience is necessary, just enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to get stuck in.

Brandon Trust staff will provide full instruction and supervision. All tools, gloves etc. will be provided, just wear strong covered shoes/ boots and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Brandon Trust support adults and children with learning disabilities and autism and by taking part in this activity you help them live a life with fewer limitations. This activity will really help those living in the accommodation to enjoy the outdoors, giving them a sense of wellbeing and the opportunity to use the garden productively.

And the benefits for you? Spending time with enthusiastic volunteers, doing some physical activity, something different from your normal routine can enhance to your mental and physical wellbeing too.

If you would like to be part of the team please send us your details.

Please make sure you have your line manager's support for this activity prior to getting in touch.
