Support young people in Sheffield

Different coloured hands pointing up to the word volunteer

Project Apollo has recently launched in Sheffield to support young people leaving care to move into education, work and training. The project, commissioned by Sheffield City Council’s Leaving Care Service and delivered by Sheffield Futures, will help 100 young people towards a brighter future. This can include help with careers guidance, providing work experience, practical careers advice and other long-term support.

How can you get involved?

We are looking for volunteers from across the Civil Service, to help plan and deliver a career day to support these young people.  We envisage that the day will include a talk on what is the Civil Service, some interactive interview preparation, a work place tour and ideas about routes into the Civil Service.

We are keen to encourage volunteers from a range of Civil Service departments to be involved, and we hope that the day will give young people leaving care the chance to find out more about the Civil Service opportunities available to them.

If you would like to find out more or you are interested in supporting this project, please contact Alexis Evans.
