Mentors Needed: Could you help a young person increase their confidence, self-esteem and aspirations for the future? Would you like to help them understand what will make them employable and help them to progress into further training or employment? Leeds Education Business Partnership (EBP) is looking for people to act as mentors to unemployed 16 and 17 year olds to help them transition into work. Mentors would typically meet with a mentee on a fortnightly basis at a mutually convenient location in the south, east or west areas of Leeds, for an hour session. The meetings are focused on confidence building and career and training pathways. Full training and support is provided to volunteer mentors. The initial training session lasts for half a day and volunteers will be invited to this in September. After training, volunteers are under no obligation to take on a mentee if they decide it is not for them.
