Online Civil Service Connect event for World Menopause Day

Introduction

This year we are doing something different. 2020 has, for many of us, tested our resilience and wellbeing strategies. It has however, also provided us with the opportunity to do things more creatively. So with that in mind, this will be our first online menopause event for civil servants across the UK. We will be celebrating World Menopause Day with online events designed to get everyone talking about how we can continue to stay well and happy during the menopause, as well as sharing our experiences.

What is World Menopause Day?

World Menopause Day is held every year on the 18 October and this year we will mark the event on 19 October in the Civil Service. The day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the menopause, to continue to break down the taboo in talking about it and to signpost everyone to the support available.

Isn’t this just for women?

No, as the menopause can have an impact at work and at home, so anyone can be touched by the menopause in some way. Maybe you are struggling with some difficult symptoms, maybe you are supporting a partner or a colleague with their menopause. You might lead on wellbeing for your department and want to signpost support available to colleagues. Perhaps you are a line manager and just don’t know how to start to have a conversation about the menopause with someone in your team...

Want to sign up?

Open to any civil servant to join here via Eventbite. Please use a work email address to register, but you may use a personal device to join the sessions. We will be using Zoom meetings and Google hangout to deliver these and will send you the details before the event.
