We have a number of opportunities within our three areas in the east and south east corner of England, including London. If any of the areas below grab your interest please use the CS Local application form to tell us of what you would like to do or if you just want a chat talk then email Ian Barton and John Haskey.
Communications & Marketing -
Support the development of our Comms activities e.g. writing for the blog or our newsletters, or promoting CS Local at events
Job Shadowing
Help run our matching service for people wanting to broaden their perspective by following a colleague from another department
Discovery Sessions
Help run information sessions on a variety of topics broadly linking to Civil Service Reform by organising the events, sourcing and booking speakers, and encouraging sign-up by local civil servants.
Schools Programme
We support a variety of activities in schools across our area. This can involve presentations to a school group about the Civil Service at careers fairs or open days, helping on a single all day learning event in a school, or being part of Engaging our Schools (as a project manager or as a mentor for two students for six weeks) where we help young people t risk of dropping out of the educational system (or aiming lower than they could achieve) to begin to understand the work environment. In all of these we need help to identify schools and volunteers, find the right building, provide briefings for new project members etc.
Networks
We are building networks across our areas to encourage cross-departmental learning and action around themes such as Staff Engagement, Continuous Improvement, Volunteering, Equality & Diversity, Project Management, etc. As well as active participants, the Networks need support from facilitators, subject experts, administrators etc
Local organisers and champions
There are many events and meetings where we need people to help organise rooms and delegates, spread our messages and recruit people to our activities.
As you can see we have a great variety of opportunities which cover a whole host of competencies. If you are looking for something different and challenging, get in touch - we are friendly and happy to talk without any obligation to sign up on your part. It can be very rewarding and fun. Drop a line to us, Ian Barton and John Haskey and we'll arrange to talk.
