Do something different this Christmas and volunteer your time for Crisis

Posted by: and , Posted on: - Categories: East, South East & London

Donate a couple of hours of your time and volunteer for Crisis at Christmas in London this winter.

Crisis at Christmas is a lifeline for thousands of homeless people across the UK, offering support, companionship and vital services over the festive period.

Crisis at Christmas is only made possible through the generosity of thousands of volunteers like you.

Crisis at Christmas has begun its recruitment campaign for 11,000 volunteers to help run their homeless shelters between 23-30 December. Further information can be found here about how you could support someone over Christmas.

Given the historically high demand for places we recommend that you register asap if you are interested, particularly if you want to volunteer ‘normal’ hours.

If you let us know too we will link you with other civil servants volunteering. All civil service staff have the opportunity to take at least 3 days of special paid leave each year to undertake volunteering and it is important that we record that this is happening.

Our vision is 'A Brilliant Civil Service' that reflects and understands the diverse society it serves, that is inclusive and flexible and this is a great opportunity to live up to that vision. Aleem has been volunteering with Crisis for over 18 years now and HM Treasury Permanent Secretary received thanks from the CEO of CrisiCrisis 3x9s for allowing staff to volunteer last year and so let’s keep up the good work and help make a difference.
