The Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Network Scotland aims to promote an inclusive work environment and inspire others to do the same, to share common D&I practises, to generate new ideas to make inclusion a reality.
The network hosted a show and tell from the Department for Work and Pensions, HM Revenue and Customs, Forestry Commission, Scottish Government, Department for International Development, Cabinet Office and Ministry of Defence covering the diversity and inclusion initiatives already taking place in each of these departments. Members then networked, shared best practice and looked to take ideas from the other departments.
As part of its remit the CS Local Diversity and Inclusion Network is planning a project to improve one aspect of diversity and inclusion within Scotland. Members are currently researching specific areas in their own department and hope to report back and agree on a project at the next meeting.
With 46 departments/agencies in the Civil Service in Scotland the network has made a good start, there are still many areas not represented in the network. The network is keen to grow and be as representative, diverse and inclusive as it can be and therefore welcomes new members from any of the other departments/agencies.

A great blog Heather and so very proud as SRO for CS Local Scotland that the D&I Network has hit the deck running to promote, share, raise awareness and generate practical ways to create and support an inclusive Scotland. I hope many more public bodies and departments will join those already involved.

A great initiative! Personally, it's a pity you are over-subscribed with DWP interest. Best wishes with your group!
