As a civil servant working in DWP, I'm really enjoying the chance to work with other government departments to share new ideas. I'm now working one day a week as the communications leads for Civil Service Local north west. As a Welshman who's made his home in the north west of England, I hope to help bring you news from our area about the benefits of working together in exciting, creative ways to make things better for us and the towns and cities where we live and work.
We're proud to celebrate the first anniversary of our GAP (Government Access Point) project today. We're also looking for volunteers to get on their bikes and help us raise some funds for one of our hospices . . .
Our next Discovery Session is going to be at Trinity Bridge House on 06 March focusing on Civil Service Learning and how you can use the portal to build a better understanding of your competencies.
A very valuable session which included so much information about how elections work in the UK, an inspirational story about attending the north west Academy, and even a premier showing of a short film!
Find out more about an exciting and unique opportunity to gain a University level qualification through Civil Service Local. We're working in partnership with Lancashire Adult Learning to offer Level 5 Apprenticeships in Leadership and Management.
We probably all know that there will be a general election in May. But do you know what that means for us as Civil Servants? Our next Discovery Session will explain more about the rules involved as well as the impact on Civil Servants.
The Government Access Project - known as GAP, recently helped 65 patients as well as staff and carers at Trinity Hospice, Blackpool. Our team of cross-government volunteers are now looking forward to returning to Trinity and other local hospices in 2015 to develop their skills further and continue to support our community.
A good news story that has it all - networking, continuous improvement and cross-government collaboration. Find out how Jen Frankish proved that it really is worth showing some initiative to help get things done.
