Hurricanes help others get on the ladder
Inspired by their time at the 2016 ESEL Junior Leader’s Academy the Hurricane family wanted to help other potential leaders and came up with the idea of a ‘Civil Service Leadership Ladder’ for their project.

The East South East and London is a huge geographic area covering from the Norfolk coast to the Isle of Wight, with Greater London at its centre. Whilst London contains the majority of our civil servants, there is a distribution across the whole of the region, with significant pockets of staff in places such as Southampton/Portsmouth, Dover, Hastings, Reading, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Peterborough, Norwich, Ipswich and Southend.

Join the cross-departmental 'discovery day' taking place at HMRC Durrington Bridge House in Worthing, West Sussex on 24 January. Visit the market stall and learn about the different government departments in the area, or join a Civil Service Local Awareness Raising session.
Calling all civil servants in the Slough area. Come and volunteer to get involved in the riverside community clean-up organised by the Environment Agency on 2 February.
We’ve all had that moment, when you realise a presentation’s not going down quite as well as you hoped. Along with a small group of civil servants from across Whitehall, I spent 15 minutes or so enthusiastically talking about our work, what the civil service is, and the exciting range of jobs it offers.
