Volunteer to help deliver a 'Career Speed Dating' event for students at Monkseaton Middle School
Two north east schools, Josephine Butler Campus, Ashington, and Walbottle Campus, Newcastle, are looking for civil servants to inspire their young people at careers events in February and March 2016.
Civil Service Local North West held celebration events to thank the volunteers whose hard work and enthusiasm has made the citizen focussed projects so successful. Mandy Morris, from HM Courts and Tribunals Service, took part in the Going Forward project at Hindley Green prison and went to one of the events, where she swapped stories and reminisced about how she had made a difference.

Inspiring our Young People in Further Education is an exciting new project from Civil Service Local in the North West. We are piloting the project with All Saint’s Catholic High School (Kirkby, Liverpool) Sixth Form students. The programme will join together Civil Servants from five different departments with a group of Year 12 students.
A very valuable session which included so much information about how elections work in the UK, an inspirational story about attending the north west Academy, and even a premier showing of a short film!
